As well as having our own Love Your Tent fields at the Isle of Wight Festival it’s really important for us to get the Love Your Tent #justtakeithome message to the wider audience so we can try to limit the amount of waste across the campsites at the end of the event.
To engage the festival audience we do lots of stuff around the site to let people know why it is so important to take their tents and camping equipment home with them when they leave. One thing we’ve been up to today is chatting to artists and asking them what they think about people leaving their rubbish behind. According to Kelly from Stereophonics “everyone should just clean up their sh*t” and SIGMA say you shouldn’t be “mucky pups”. Beautiful Gabrielle Aplin reminded everyone that it all “goes to landfill”and the very funny Reverend and the Makers explained ‘No-one likes a scrubber”. Ha!
We had a real blast chatting to the bands and were overwhelmed with their support. Look out for our full film with all the artists thoughts about campers who decide its cool to leave stuff behind. We’ll be showcasing it tomorrow across social.
